• Pay attention to your body language. Stand up straight and make eye contact. Never slouch or shuffle your feet. Make sure your facial expressions match what you are saying. Be consistent.

  • Learn to catch negative thoughts in your head as they go by...this make take some time to master but dont give up. You'll discover the things you'r telling yourself are either wrong or an over simplification of the situation. Don't decide in advance that things won't work out.

  • Ask for what you want directly and politely. Don't whine, scream or sugarcoat.

But in the end...even if you don't FEEL assertive...ACT assertive. We are all human... people will respond to an air of confidence...which in turn assists your inner change.
